Pros

Alternating early Fridays. You get to leave early the day before before holidays. Downstairs cafe is good. Coworkers were cool until they quit and more unqualified people were hired.

Cons

Very little and inconsistent training. You’re pretty much on your own after 2 weeks since the trainer(s) have to start training the other incoming techs. Management would send a training schedule, but sometimes the trainer wouldn’t be able to thoroughly go over the day’s topics since they still had to do their normal work load on top of training. Very micromanaged in Medicare Supplement like we were in high school. Our breaks had a 7 minute time limit at one point. Sometimes I had to go to other floors to find an available stall since there were only 3-4 stalls per floor…and then when I got back to my desk, I would have a message from management asking why I went over the time limit by maybe 2-3 minutes???? Management said the workload would be evenly and randomly distributed, however good employees were punished with more work to keep productivity numbers up. I noticed myself making more calls than some other techs, so I started to keep track of how many new applications were added to my inbox. I consistently had the most newest apps added throughout the course of the 3-4 months that I kept track. When I brought it up to management, they just told me “I know you can handle it.” Sure I can handle it, but make it at least somewhat fair or give me a raise! Pay sucks and is way below the average. Raises are only 1-2% every year. No bonuses. No remote work options. Offices are just okay, nothing great.

Pros

The pace is very fast. It was similiar to what I had done at previous jobs.

Cons

Manhattan Life did not give me enough accrued time off to go to all of my doctor appointments. I had cancer and they would not make an exception because I had been employed there less than 1 year.
