Pros

Work from home every Friday

Cons

The pay isn't great, bonuses are little, and no advancement. It is not about how hard you work but about how long you have been with the company and how close you are with the manager. It is a small group with max 3 but majority of the time 2 workers due to high turnovers or laid offs. There is no sense of team or working in groups just individually. The culture is very hard to work in because there is a lot of gossips, bullying even from managers, blaming, and very little room to learn from manager. They micro-manage, and like to control people, Manager talks a lot about team members to other co-workers and plays a lot of favoritism with people she likes. You are expected to be best friends with the manager and to hang out with her outside of work other wise you will be treated badly and will never get promoted and most likely be terminated. When you are having a hard time or bad experience you should not tell anyone at work because they will go back and tell the manager and the manager will try to use that person to get more information out of you to see how you feel about the job which will most likely lead to termination. You have to self learn and ask less questions otherwise you will be treated like if you are stupid but everything you self learn you will need to also teach the manager that way she can easily review your work. Don't expect the managers to teach you how to use all software you need to learn for your work. She may not know. There is also no training materials. You learn as you go. Once you start working here you have no work and life balance. They would want to control everything you do outside of work and know your business outside of work. There is a lot of unprofessionalism, unethical behaviors, and they are also very bias so if you are a minority you may need to think twice before working here. Your feelings doesn't matter. Also do not complain to HR because they are not for you but for the company that they work for and will always try to protect their job and company so unless you want to be terminated out of no where do not complain to them. If you are looking for another job do it quietly so that you have a chance to give your 2 weeks notice otherwise they will beat you at it and terminate you as soon as they feel like you no longer want to work for them and want to leave. Sometimes they may even let you go before you finish your 2 weeks notice so don't be surprise. It is just the way it is there.

Pros

The pace is very fast. It was similiar to what I had done at previous jobs.

Cons

Manhattan Life did not give me enough accrued time off to go to all of my doctor appointments. I had cancer and they would not make an exception because I had been employed there less than 1 year.
