Pros

Excellent pay and benefits, leader in technology in auction industry

Too much favoritism shown towards certain Managers from the HR Department, which makes taking any issues up to the next level in the chain all but impossible. If you do choose to voice your frustrations to HR about those certain Managers, it will backfire in your face. Manheim says they have a zero retaliation policy, but that doesn't help you if you speak out against someone higher up that you. Survey result "meetings" are nothing more than lip service, as the same issues keep getting brought to the attention of Sr Management, but the same offending Managers continue to skate by while avoiding any disciplinary actions. Case in point: the department had a meeting to go over the Survey results. Present for the meeting were the Department manager and supervisor, and both HR representatives. Instead of us being allowed to explain why we graded some of the categories the way we did, we were told that "You obviously didn't really understand the question, as we feel Manager X and Supervisor Y are doing a great job".

Pros

- promotions within - very experienced coworkers - great benefits - management training program

Cons

- training is terrible in almost every department - the job can be kind of mundane - not many young people in full time positions
