Pros

Excellent benefits, great team mates, always challenging. Loved working with the dealers. At sales conferences upper management always made themselves available.

Cons

The pay plans were very unfair for sales reps in rural territories. Rural reps are expected to achieve same results as reps in metropolitan areas, even though, your customer is base is far different (more independent vs. franchise stores = less volume). More hours, less pay, more time on the road. Management refused to let me relocate to another area with more potential because they would have a difficult time filling that position. Very disappointing, because I loved my job before the "restructure". Was forced to give up a management position to apply for an "available" job in within the "new" market or lose my job after working 9 years in the company or go back on the road due to "low volume" of a primarily rural auction.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, and plenty of volunteer time, if you need extra money in your pocket - the ability to use your cell phone - have a lot of freedom without people looking over your back directly. But they're constantly scouring the lot watching. They call it policing the lot

Cons

Little room for advancement unless you are young - managers act like they're bi polar smile at you one minute and give you a dirty look the next - GM is very toxic and is a liar. Compensation is only slightly over minimum wage - company makes billions in profit - work outside in every weather condition, whether it's pouring rain and 5° or sunny and 100°
