Pros
The overall work / life balance was always fairly good. If you just want to punch a clock, this may be the place for you!
Cons
- IT and business were never properly aligned. - IT was always treated as a cost center rather than a revenue generator. - Global IT was never given any authority to push a global agenda. It was always "up to the country" to determine if they'd like to be part of a global system. Hence, all the projects to standardize "globally" were doomed from the beginning. No country or group was ever willing to cede control to a centralized IT. - Extremely siloed environment. - 3 or 4 good developers to every 10 or 20 bad ones and no help from Management to weed the bad from the good. - Reviews inconsistent and goals impossible to meet since management would change your focus 3 or 4 times a year. - 0 accountability for bad decisions year after year.
