Pros

Benefits are great in the industry.

Cons

Highly centralized management, based in middle of Ohio, stuck in the 1950's in MPC's approach to innovation and flexibility (i.e., none). Acquired Andeavor in late '18 and I have been told by several managers and HR reps that Heminger, the MPC CEO, has basically cheated certain Andeavor employees out of either all or a significant portion of their Andeavor performance bonuses by ignoring/changing the terms post-acquisition in violation of the plan and the merger agreement; the bonus pool was created as part of the merger, and any unspent dollars go to MPC's bottom line, thus the incentive for Heminger's action. Morale among Andeavor employees is horrendous and many in management and support positions in CA and TX are looking for the exit. Only good thing is benefits in industry are great.

Pros

There is a new CHRO in 2026. My rating is on former leadership. So glad someone saw how toxic the former CHRO was and she Is no longer there.

Cons

Unfortunately, it took 8 years and the loss of several great employees to see her behavior.
