Pros

Have fun selling running shoes to customers. Learn about shoe technology and everyday life as a runner. Meeting new people that can become a close friends or personal connections with co-workers.

Cons

Every different marathon sports store has a different manager and how they control their own team. Every store is (different) They are connected to one another just for shipping out shoes. If you like working in a fast pace area for example Boston or Wellesley is your busy go too store. But you have to be on your A game selling shoes and helping maybe 2 or 3 customers at the same time. If your looking for easy settling slow pace Brookline, Cambridge and Mansfield are examples.

Pros

Friendly and supportive coworkers. Good environment if you're looking for a simple part-time retail job. Opportunities to learn basic customer service and retail operations.

Cons

Leadership presence on the sales floor was barren and inconsistent during busy periods, which increased the workload for frontline employees. Often felt like operational metrics and sales took priority over employee support and development. Communication from management regarding scheduling and attendance expectations was often unclear and felt impersonal. Attendance policies were enforced very strictly, with little flexibility for occasional mistakes. Limited feedback and transparency from management when workplace issues arose.
