Pros
The best thing I can say about this job is for the first six months I didn't hate it. This was strongly because of poor ownership in my particular location. However, I can see how working at a bustling Marble Slab Creamery would be very fun. All of the employees kind of do everything, so be prepared to scoop, actually make ice cream, and mop the floor.
Cons
Working at Marble Slab was an all around unprofessional experience. I never completed any tax paperwork or was asked my SSN (I later realized my boss must have gotten it off my work permit application without my knowledge). They only hired attractive teenage girls and most of us were harassed by one of the managers. We were always understaffed, so the place was always dirty as a result. There was no time to clean because we had to spend the whole shift helping customers and making product. I was told by another coworker (not the manager or boss) that the restaurant was closing down two days before it closed and I lost my job. I had to actually call the manager to find out. Marble Slab Creamery is sadly a dying franchise; over half of the stores have closed in the past few years. My advice is to only get involved with one if it's in particularly popular location.
