Pros

- Benefits are great. That's one of the things truthful about the reviews the HR department has been pumping into Glassdoor the last month or so. (it's a little too obvious) - The people were generally really great to work with. The culture was positive, and you certainly bought into and wanted to own in the success of Mariner. - Building is nice. - You get to learn a lot of different areas and work closely with a lot of varying business segments.

Cons

- Leadership is almost non-existent. Strategy fluctuates day-to-day. Like chasing your tail? You'll never catch it here. - "Collaboration" is a buzzword you hear all the time. At Mariner it translates into indecision and ultimately becomes a drain on productivity. Half your day is spent discussing things you'll never likely do because the focus will shift. - Unqualified individuals in certain leadership roles means that a lot of the decisions made are more "shoot from the hip" than educated decisions based on factual industry/area knowledge. The vision is very short-term, growth focused and they are currently (and will be even more so in the future) paying for the lack of long term vision. - They are a single company comprised of 15-20 individual companies which leads to 15-20 ways of doing things. Rather than mold that into a singular vision, with similar operational procedures the team is responsible for "doing whatever they want" more times than not. It's inefficient, costly, and prone to errors - not to mention the silos that are created within the team. 3 CRM systems, 3-4 trading platforms, 2-3 portfolio management solutions, 3 planning tools, 3 client portals, 2-3 document management products...the list goes on.

Cons

No Proper process. They will change the team and there is no honest feedback. even though you handle multiple engagements you will end up having bad feedback.
