Pros
While the Mariner may face challenges, the benefits package is a plus.
Cons
During my time at Mariner, I encountered several issues that I think are important for anyone considering working there to be aware of. 1. Feedback Culture: One major problem was the narrow range of opinions that were actually taken into account. It seemed that feedback and ideas were mostly disregarded unless they came from a particular "inner group." 2. Mariner Direction and Organization: There was an apparent absence of a coherent, unified vision within Mariner, which manifested in frequent shifts in what was offered. This inconsistency made it difficult to maintain focus and provide our clients with cohesive services. 3. Leadership and Guidance: Leadership across different levels appeared to have difficulty in offering clear guidance and motivating the team. 4. Growth and Integration Approach: The company seemed to prioritize acquiring new businesses over efficiently integrating them into the existing corporate structure. 5. Consistency Issues: I consistently noticed discrepancies between what Mariner promised regarding services, support, and results, and what was actually delivered. This regularity in not fulfilling promises led to decreased morale and diminished effectiveness.
