Pros

I would only recommend working for Marquette to get expirence .I worked with with great people while on the boat made a lot of good friends.Pay could be a lot better for all the work the deck crew has to go through. If your a tankerman or wheelman they treat you like god.

Cons

They have the wrong people working in the office.Deckhands are a dime a dozen according to them. They don't appreciate or show any recognition for all hard work the deckhands put out.Way to many accidents in the past few years.

Pros

Cook with decent food and environment and time off

Cons

You will live off of naps while on square watch and often be expected to work more than your 12 hour shift up to a max of 15 hours a day. No lightning stand down policy makes storm work very dangerous. This company has the toughest work, one of the lowest pay, and also the highest rates of negligence and accidents. Constantly cutting corners to safe money and putting lives at risk. Just look at the public accidents and incidents over the last 15 years and you’ll get about 40% of the picture since most do not get reported or talked about per Marquette tradition.
