Pros

Avg pay. Some professional people that care there.

Cons

Management is "The good ol' boy" network from Randy down. If you are not male don't expect t9 get anything you're promised. The zero tolerance drug policy does not apply to management until the person is exposed and makes them look bad. If you work in operations be prepared for a BAD TIME. People screaming and cursing at drivers and at each other. If you go in with hopes of making a difference you will soon be beat down and made to conform or be told to like it leave or used as a scape goat and fired. The reason for the positive 6 month review is there will always be a need for trucks and the laws are putting small trucking out of business and Marten has the reserves to hold out through almost anything. Randy was humbled when he was hit with cancer but sounds like he is back in full Randy mode.

Pros

Good office camaraderie, regular PTO available for long term employees if you stay there long enough, good overall structure in place to deal with most common trucking company/industry issues.

Cons

Management has a tendency to nitpick issues. Everything is goal and growth oriented as a public company so you're always expected to do more with less. During the current trucking market they keep looking for new ways to trim the fat. This was the first year they didn't provide company calendars to employees, and got rid of the yearly floating PTO day as well. 401k contributions also diminished. There were also blatant sexist/transphobic/homophobic remarks made nearly daily and nothing was ever done about it.
