Pros
Pay is OK, maybe slightly below industry standards. Most people are nice to work with.
Cons
Area management expects those who supervise and manage the quarries to do so with almost no manpower or resources. Very common for a manager to be doing 2 or more people's duties for months at a time because running lean is the "new normal". 12+ hour days are the standard, plus mandatory weekend work. Not a good fit if you have anything in your life that interests you besides work, because the work/life balance is a joke. If you have an engineering or other degree I would recommend district/division/corporate positions only, because you will get worked to death in the operations.
