Pros

Maryhaven has evolved over the past few years but has always maintained the same mission of providing safe and effective services for the disabled. There are many layers of employment that ensure the effectiveness of our services from Direct Care Workers, to Behavior Specialists, Nursing, Quality Improvement, HR, Staff Development and Administration. Each of these departments take pride in their work and strive for excellence. The work on each level is rewarding and holds a significant amount of purpose and importance.

Cons

Maryhaven itself as a provider sets a high standard, however we fall under restrictions from New York State that often tie our hands and are unavoidable.

Incredibly welcoming staff, collaborative work, wellness programs for employees (guided meditation, yoga classes, etc.), overall, a positive work environment dedicated to promoting success.

Working with people with disabilities can be a deeply enriching experience, both professionally and personally. It fosters a more inclusive, empathetic, and innovative workplace culture.

Cons

Used to be a staffing problem however the Human Resources Team has been working diligently to resolve these issues at all the houses.
