Pros
Learn new skills Get to work with multiple types of technology Used to be able to handle walk-ups before becoming full-time remote. Great Christmas party.
Cons
Willard the manager and John the Director are clueless. John made promises about growth within the team but never kept his promises. No learning or development program to improve your skills. Willard will go with what the user say over what his tech says. Don't get me started with the on-call support as before with the previous managers, it was not a 24/7 support. Now from what I was told from current employees that it has become a 24/7 support and the techs have to log into the phone queue and only get to clame OT if and only IF they get a call and put in a ticket. So if a call does not come in all weekend long and you are logged into the phone system, you are not getting paid for that time. You will be overworked and your time will be micro-managed by the manager, Willard. After being there for 9 years, I finally got a 10% raise, but it was too little too late. Your mental health means nothing for the company or mostly for the IT Department.
