Pros
I was a consultant at Partner's for a few months, and I would have liked to become a permanent employee, but they were using a special medical database and only wanted engineers with a background in that, at the time. They seemed to be doing some very interesting things there. My impression of the place was very positive. My overall experience was good. And it was inspiring to me to work there. I helped build a patient-tracking system that had the potential to make life easier for patients in the waiting rooms (shorter wait time). I was given the elbow room to do my job. The buildings are nice in the headquarters on the waterfront in Charlestown. Partner's is a non-profit hospital system, which is also a plus.
Cons
I was aware of one problematic manager. But I wasn't really there long enough to get the dirt on any systemic problems with the company.
