Pros

MGH is a welcoming and caring environment. I have come to love and admire all my coworkers. There is rarely confrontation or conflict and most people have few complaints. I've become a part of a greater community of people. I feel like I have gained so many friends and family members and truly feel blessed to have worked in such a progressive and prestige company.

Cons

MY PAY IS AWFUL. Living in Boston is not an easy feat with a good paying job. Living and food costs are very expensive. After working my behind off in college to get a Bachelor's degree in Biology, you would THINK I would be receiving at least a pay of $20/hr. Alas, no. I work two jobs to make ends meet and I'm still living paycheck to paycheck between rent and student loans. I make approx. $490 per week, sometimes less. I will leave MGH in the next couple months to move to a private company where I am paid fairly for the work I do. Out of all my roommates who all graduated with me, I am the only one who struggles to pay my bills because of my income.

Pros

A lot of resources, well supported and trained staff, very protocoled.

Cons

Low pay, high turnover, too many changes with the merge with not enough communication. Choosing to hire more people and expanding the hospital without compensating those already staying and putting in more work.

Pros

- Mostly simple tasks - Easy to catch on, even without healthcare experience - Entry level and training is provided, which is rare in this job market...

Cons

- Not a living wage - Health insurance provided is unaffordable with this pay, especially considering the insurance is part of the MGB business - Often have to cover weekends
