Pros
The company produces reasonably palatable tomatoes.
Cons
Ad hoc, knee jerk management from top level down. Overall health and safety of facility not even considered a tertiary priority. Same dept is running on less than a skeleton crew and there's no acknowledgement of the fact. Utterly inexperienced and, at most times, completely disconnected management who regularly implement policy based solely on whim, or by pressure by ownership, without consulting boots-on-the-ground operations. I can tell you by sheer experience, I can't believe someone at their Livonia DC hasn't been seriously injured or killed to date - and I think it's just dumb luck this hasn't occurred. US Director of Safety walked off the job out of utter frustration and disrespect by upper management AND ownership. Production is always a matter of pressure, not of positive motivation. Line managers are promoted from within, but without any managerial experience to speak of. This sorry excuse for a business has somehow been voted "Best Managed Company", but I honestly think if votes were even cast at all, every single one of them must've been bought in advance. Internal annual spend for ops is utterly without reigns and out of control. To sum up: Every single one of this organization's distribution centers are dangerous places to work. Unless you're a felon (and, oh yes!, they hire those!!!!), I recommend looking for work elsewhere..., anywhere! My experience working here was nothing short of traumatic. And I haven't even mentioned their archaic and overly biased "points system" which is governing rule over their employees - kind of reminds me a little of Kindergarten growing up.
