Pros

I enjoyed the people that I worked with, specifically the operators and technicians who took ownership and was proud of the work they did. The business is interesting, providing materials for the semiconductor industry.

Cons

There is a lack of accountability and owing up to department responsibilities. Projects would fail to meet deadlines due to department managers not being held accountable for their duties. The plant was very lean and had to wear many hats, despite having an actual department to due those "additional roles". Many people are complacent with staying in their offices when the real problems and solutions come from spending time on the floor. Changing for improvement is difficult to achieve due to the stubbornness and complacency of the overall culture, which trickles down from the management/supervisor level. There is no room to grow career-wise. I stayed in the same position for 4 years despite growing certain skill sets, and was denied a promotion to the next level of engineer due to being "mislead" with qualifications in the job description.
