Cons
Not enough time to name them all...... Unattainable sales quotas and guys' OTE are dropping lower and lower each month. The sales managers really do not know what they are doing and the culture is one of negativity and fear. Most of the top guys got smart and left, and it shows. The sales numbers are very bad and nobody is doing well compared to the way things used to be. It started as a good place to develop but despite what they may tell you in the interview, nobody gets promoted, so there is no opportunity for growth, and the earnings are less than what they tell you so be warned. It has now become a place of high call volume and no real sales skills. It was a great place but the managers have run this place into the ground and it is depressing to be there. Seriously, you can feel it when you are there and that kind of negativity is contagious. Laughable sales incentives and for whatever reason, the C-Level executives in the Sunnyvale office do not seem to care enough to get involved. Some of them visit from time to time and the condescending attitudes are very obvious. It leads to a lot of tension and anxiety when they visit. All the positivity you might read about comes from California, not Chicago. Keep that in mind. If you need a job in sales for experience, this might be an ok spot, but don't expect to make much. There are fewer leads than ever and this is definitely a marketing first organization. The people in the corporate offices in California have all the fun. Chicago is an afterthought and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I could go on, but I think you get the point and have an idea of what life is like here. Sorry to be so blunt but I wanted to give potential applicants the fair warning I wish I had but never got.
