Pros
Incredibly neat and applicable tech, the data being gathered is especially important and can influence the world moving forward. The people in Chicago are an awesome bunch. Smart, supportive, and fun. From the VP to the managers, you won't find more intelligent or authentic sales leaders anywhere. The sales team is also an awesome group with lots of really great ideas and contributions. Believe it or not, many people on the HR staff are also great and very helpful. The marketing team is brilliant. You can learn a lot about how to sell here and make some very strong relationships to boot.
Cons
What you don't read in these reviews is that the fault for Matterport's problems is mostly because of the the Executive team in California. I think this is a Executive team that is drunk on Silicon Valley style capitalism. This means that most of them are out of touch with human beings and and make decisions without considering existentialist variables. Examples: I saw so many repetitive operational mistakes from the top (such as issues with paying out commissions), cutting key people out of communication chains(think need to know emails), unnecessary micromanagement, continual setting of unrealistic goals, and a shocking attrition rate of high level people(VPs, directors etc).
