Let go despite meeting expectations - Senior Software Engineer Matterport Employee Review

Worked for just under 1 year, and was let go due to "not meeting expectations", even though I received a "Meets expectations" rating in my most recent performance review. I understand if I received anything below that, it would serve as a valid warning before letting someone go, but this was definitely not the case. Also, most of the non-engineering personnel are impersonal (and one in particular quite rude), and unprofessional. It's a shame because the product itself is pretty good and I really wanted to stay, but the culture forced me out.
