Pros

Good schedule, good life balance, benefits are good they're a little pricey but they're still good. It's easy to reach out to your manager or HR person but just don't expect them to do anything

Cons

Honestly I was surprised after reading all the other reviews from the other Maximus employees, that many different offices have the same issues. So this has to be a Maximus culture thing, not a location thing. Advancement in this company isn't always based on skill level or experience. The very same people that have had multiple complaints brought against them are the ones that are just raved about being the best. How is that possible? The ones that work the hardest are seen the least. If you just want to do your job and not worry about growth, don't worry about it. But if you want to grow, know this you will need to have your brown nose game ready. It's sad that in this year of 2025 we still have this. Management is blind to the faults of their faves and take concerns lightly. When you have worked with somebody who is problematic and you hear your manager or above saying how great they are. Makes you wonder what are they looking at? This is demotivating.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
