Pros

Decent pay. It was a good opportunity to be a part of a brand new call center ramping up and starting from the beginning. The majority of the people you work with are great. You truly are helping people in the community and changing lives, so big picture is important.

Cons

Leadership is very biased, favortism is rampant. The company has no problem lying about what is going on. There is no guarantee of a job.... there is always the threat of "losing the contract" and the center shutting down. High up leadership is constantly changing so there is no consistency. Metrics focus changes weekly. Morale is very very low throughout the center. Getting promoted has nothing to do with your ability, just who you are friends with in leadership.

Pros

Remote, adequate training and guidance and usually everything /software works - minus regular hiccups.

Cons

Not too many - a few misunderstanding s about training classes and roles but overall, not bad.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
