Pros
Pay is great, You spend most of your time waiting for calls and training when the busy months are over. The branch i was at was unionized so our benefits were a little better. Health insurance was good for what i was paying for it. Medium stress job is you know what you are doing. The training is good as long as you get a trainer that knows what they are doing. Management was also good as long as you weren't causing issues for them or your coworkers.. Over all good place to work as long as you know what to do and learn well.
Cons
Little room for error, If you have an airfield infraction you're basically fired. Its a zero tolerance policy when it comes to safety which is understandable. safety is paramount. Little to no room for advancement. If you train to be an fdso or a dispatcher it will depend on the shift openings which also depend on seniority for full time positions. I didn't have a problem working here i had prior service experience so it was nothing new. Overall a good place to work in my opinion.
