Pros

It is a very people oriented company that offers many opportunities. Succession planning is a high priority within the organization and executives are typically promoted from within. There are many employee oriented events which employees can participate in and it is very family oriented. Everyone is very committed to the company, which leads to some people working on vacations, etc, which becomes expected of others. Depending on the division you work in, there are typically great advancement opportunities. It is a fair company that generally treats their employees well. I have been here more than 9 years and would highly recommend this company.

Cons

Everyone has been here for a very long time (Average service: 14.5 years) and are stuck in their ways. Dedication and commitment along with corporate red tape is somtimes over the top. It is good to have processes and procedures in place, but let's be realistic about it sometimes. It hampers productivity. It can be really hard to move up the chain especially if you haven't been here long. Seniority has a lot to do with service and not necessarily performance. People company, but some events that has been long traditions are being eliminated and more is expected from everyone every day.

Pros

Lots of project opportunity for someone looking to get into manufacturing regardless of department. Benefits are good. Team is overall personable.

Cons

Dry promotions are exceedingly common. Management is disconnected from what actually occurs on the floor. Management lacks technical ability, which wastes precious time with feeble administrative tasks. Complacency is common.
