Pros
Rarely do I ever write a negative review on anything, But oh boy Mclane remains THE single worst company I have ever had the misfortune of working for.
Cons
Lower management follows the big guys around like a lost puppy, Yuppy brown nosing to the maximum degree, Never worked a day in his life and expects his subordinates to bend over backwards for inhuman workloads. He specifically targeted high performers or anyone with any degree of talent that threatens his position and buries them alive until they collapse. HR repeatedly sent important documents to a misspelled email and then flagged me to senior management for not filling out paperwork on time [that I never received] 3 separate times I asked them to double check the email and make sure it was spelled correctly, 3 separate times HR verified that it was correct. It was only after I was pulled aside and threatened with termination that they finally discovered the girls in HR had actually misspelled my email "Like, oh my gosh Becky we like totally misspelled his email, Oh no Rachel quick wave your hands so the nail polish dries quicker so we can type on the keyboard" [That's okay generic 7.5 brunette we keep around because you're fun to look at, zero repercussions for you] The entire company is a giant frat/sorority house, gossip, drama, "rules for thee but not for me" If you aren't fishing or drinking buddies with management expect to be treated and viewed like a shoe. Forklift forgot the restock an item when the selectors/pickers came through? Too bad for the loader, you get to go grab all the stuff that they didn't pick Selectors/pickers grab item 103212 instead of 103121 because they're stoned out of their minds? Too bad, you get to go into the freezer and exchange them. Oh, did we mention that dry dock is waiting for you to finish loading cold goods so they can start their job? They supply the bottom of the barrel [Dollar general, Circle K, Family dollar] and so every piece of equipment, every level of the company reflects that. Expect to ride around the facility to look for 2 non functional load braces you can cobble them together to make one semi functional load brace and then get "verbal warnings" for being out of position. The electric pallet jacks will die randomly in the freezer, so you'll have to get the forklift to drag it out and carry it to maintenance once a week. Did I mention that I was training a new hire, who had zero warehouse experience and they brought him on making $1.50hr more than I was, I was training a guy making more than me, with ZERO warehouse experience. The whole company is a cluster, I would rather deburr scalding hot parts fresh out of a drill press with my bare cheeks than go back there.
