Pros

Everyone on the marketing team is very patient, kind and helpful.

Cons

There is little room for advancement in the marketing department. In general, AEC industry marketing is lacking in creativity, but corporate standards leave very little room for interpretation or "out of the box" thinking. There is little work-life balance. In general, the culture amongst management and fellow marketing coordinators is to work non-stop. Many people would work through their vacations or pull 60 to 70-hour weeks when a deadline is approaching. There is no down time... when you finish one project, there are 5 more waiting. Despite the other cons, I would have probably not left the company if it weren't for the change in management. I was appointed a new manager and quickly experienced the worst case of micro-management that I have ever come across. I felt suffocated. I had earned my place as an independent and capable coordinator with my last manager and that was all washed away within weeks with the change in management.

Pros

They really do value their company culture and continue to work towards creating a good work like balance. The benefits are great, and being employee owned is huge.

Cons

They are just large enough that some of the "corporate" issues exist. Lack of relationships with the CEO's, red tape to get certain things done, and how well the work life balance is definietly does depend on your boss and your location.
