Pros

Family atmosphere and culture. Cares more about people than profits (although profit is important to sustain the company). Great diversity of work, always interesting. The people here are generally not self-seeking corporate ladder climbers, but most everyone seeks to help one another (in my experience this company hires good people, but nothing's perfect). No profit centers. Autonomy to do what you want if it makes sense, and hands-off managers in my experience. Great history and legacy: founded by Daniel W. Mead, early pioneer in the field of Engineering Ethics. Company strives to do the right thing, take care of people, and do what makes sense.

Cons

This isn't much of a con, but with the huge diversity in project types coupled with flexibility to do things any way you want, it would be nice if there was more structure around how to go about completing projects. We are very verbal and collaborative, which sometimes leads to less standards and templates and more figuring out who to talk to for information, While I think this can be both a pro and a con, each person will have to decide for themselves.

Pros

They really do value their company culture and continue to work towards creating a good work like balance. The benefits are great, and being employee owned is huge.

Cons

They are just large enough that some of the "corporate" issues exist. Lack of relationships with the CEO's, red tape to get certain things done, and how well the work life balance is definietly does depend on your boss and your location.
