Pros

Benefits. Also getting paid for 8 hours when the Branches had reduced hours during the start of the Pandemic was nice.

Cons

Oh boy where to begin? This company merged with another bank called Rabobank recently and the culture completely changed. There are higher sales goals, and if you do not meet them you risk getting written up. Corporate is oblivious to employee happiness, and a lot of people have been quitting because the company has no sense of direction. The Director of Retail Banking, Rauly Butler, is superb. The person he reports to, the Chief Banking Officer, and the person below Rauly, the Senior Vice President/Retail Region Manager for the Bay Area, are two of the most vile, incompetent, micro-managing people I have ever seen. They bully and berate Branch Managers. Speaking of Branch Managers, do not ever work at the Walnut Creek location. The BM is lazy, has other people do his work for him, and only got his position because of favoritism with the Retail Region Manager. He is part of the Retail Regional Manager/Chief Banking Officer buffoonery. The pay is atrocious compared to other banks. The raises we received this year were an abomination, and just more evidence that Mechanics made a huge mistake merging with an awful company in Rabobank. Another thing: if you get promoted from within the company you are not going to be making as much as an external candidate with the same position. Great job rewarding an employee who knows the company better than someone else Mechanics.

Pros

It is a new position for me. The training I have received has been exceptional. The vibe in the office so far is really good. I see room for growth and I now have a work life balance.

Cons

I'd like more pay but who doesn't. I believe I am paid correctly for my experience.

Pros

Decent pay, no work weekends

Cons

Back office operations is extremely unorganized during mergers, there is little to no communication with employees from upper management about plans, changes, etc. The company makes it clear they value profits over people.
