Pros
I feel good about thig being a good place for non technical QA to learn more technical skills and SDET to advance. I feel good about saying that as the QA lead at Mediquant. My background is in engineering (computer engineering degree, I was a developer, and have been active in the QA community as well: CSTE certification), presenting at conferences. Culture: We treat each other with respect here. We offer full remote, and flex time (e.g. move your schedule an hour earlier or later)
Cons
On my team at least a person has to be willing to treat other people with respect, and needs to be the sort of person who is flexible and responsible enough to work remote. That in my view just requires people be responsible about remote work: being responsive during work hours, work on agreed on goals we set and reporting if things get derailed.
