Pay Withholding Concerns Involving Executive Leadership - Contract RN Medical Recruitment Strategies Employee Review

My experience as an RN contractor raised serious concerns regarding both pay practices and executive-level communication. At the end of my assignment, I was informed that my wages would be withheld until company equipment was returned. My employment agreement did not state that wages would be contingent upon equipment return—only that items should be returned and coordinated. I complied promptly and provided proof of return. When I questioned the withholding of my pay, the response from executive leadership, including direct communication at the highest level of the organization, was dismissive and communicated in a manner that felt intimidating rather than solution-focused. I was advised that this approach was permissible, which did not align with Pennsylvania wage requirements. This situation ultimately required escalation and involvement of a labor law investigator before my wages were processed through ADP. Mileage reimbursement was handled separately and required additional follow-up despite prior communication outlining the process.My advice to other nurses: • Get all compensation and reimbursement terms clearly documented before accepting an assignment • Keep thorough records of all hours, mileage, and communication • Be prepared to advocate for yourself if discrepancies arise Timely and compliant wage payment should be standard practice. This experience created unnecessary stress and could have been avoided with clearer policies and more professional handling of employee concerns.
