Pros
Medical Solutions does care about its employees. With good compensation, profit sharing, bonuses, and general care/concern, it’s a great place to be an employee and their high ranking is deserved. Unlimited PTO is a wonderful asset, much appreciated, and can be used to your benefit if you know how.
Cons
The expectations are pretty unrealistic for the newly created role I was in. Taking on a volume of 2-3,000 emails in a work week (at times), expecting 2-3 minute response times, and perfection at that…is mentally too much. Be prepared to have your manager looped into everything, every email, every concern. It is the norm and while it shouldn’t normally be anything to wince at, if you have a manager who plays favorites, there will be an issue. There is no uniformity across roles so each individual is given the autonomy to “do their own thing” which makes it near impossible for support staff. Each of their job posts states they have flexible schedules. This is not at all the case. There were times if I was in the bathroom too long or even just went to lunch (and had my out of office on) people lost their minds. Coming from a previous role where I could make my own schedule (mostly during business hours of course) and have true flexibility, the expectations were absolutely not flexible in the most minimal of ways. I was expected to work one shift and one shift only. I was told it would be “appreciated” when I had the ability to stay longer and that I could flex that time the next day, which is simply not true. Again, had I worked 2 hours over and thus came in 2 hours late the next day, it would have been an absolute circus. I know a lot of teams had wonderful support and positivity, but there are others where this is not the case at all. A rarity, but be warned that you need to hope you land on one of the 99% amazing teams. I had a truly awful experience (of which I won’t share) but I know it’s the exception, not the rule.
