Pros

Prior to operating in the red and the new CEO, Medical Solutions was a dream employment opportunity. There was a robust training program, constant support, opportunities for bonuses, profit sharing, and a team-oriented approach. Management was concerned about your success and took time to get to know you as a person. None of these are pros occurred in my last 8 months of employment.

Cons

Towards the end of my employment, I was placed on a team with a manager who made several inappropriate comments regarding some employee's physical attributes. They would often bring up politics and other unsuitable topics in our monthly one on ones and rarely offered any feedback or support. There were multiple times that my one on one was cancelled because my manager was "working from the pool" and couldn't take a call. After enduring this abuse of power whilst maintaining my standing as a "stand out performer “for more than half a year, I was unceremoniously laid off. I lost my health insurance the next day and did not receive my severance for nearly a month. Unfortunately, the company I was hired with was not the same company I was laid off from.

Pros

You get a laptop and mouse

Cons

Leadership below the VP level gets in the way of that development. Management leans heavily on rigid, arbitrary metrics — for example, a call-quota formula (100+ calls/day) that doesn't hold up and is flawed when you actually look at how it's calculated. There's heavy oversight of clock-in/out times, lunch breaks, and even restroom time, which creates a culture of surveillance rather than trust. We are adults, no need for micromanaging. Direct Management doesn't separate emotional reactions from business outcomes — when numbers are down, that frustration is visible and passed onto the team rather than handled constructively. When leadership does phone demonstrations to "show how it's done," the execution often doesn't match the standard being enforced, which undermines credibility with the team. There's limited career growth here, financially or in terms of advancement, especially at the SDR/BDR level.
