I came here with a background in healthcare staffing, and Medicus Healthcare Solutions stands head and shoulders above other companies in our industry. They support suggestions and initiatives for improvement from all employees, whether you just started working here or have been with the company for years. (The CEO once told me, “Management does not have a monopoly on good ideas,” and he stands by that statement every day.) In addition to rewarding good ideas from employees, Medicus continually seeks (and finds!) new ways to serve our clients. It’s exciting to be part of an organization that is forward thinking, dedicated to providing the best solutions, and rewards the people who get results and contribute to the success of the company. The company provides great training, too, investing much in time and resources, and the sky’s the limit in terms of personal and professional growth. Also, Medicus is the only company in locum tenens staffing I know of that doesn’t require employees to sign a non-compete agreement. I admire this position so much because if someone comes here and it doesn’t turn out to be a good fit, that person can continue to work in this industry if he or she chooses to do so. This might seem like a minor thing to someone who hasn’t had to sign a non-compete before, but it’s huge and says a lot about the company, its philosophy, and treating everyone—including people who leave—with respect and kindness. Another practically unheard of thing that Medicus does is offer healthcare, dental, and PTO benefits from the first day on the job. Having that kind of coverage immediately is so awesome! Also, you’re able to enroll in the company’s 401(k) program after you’ve worked here for 30 days.
Cons
I’m hard pressed to come up with a single one. The company has afforded me a great deal of flexibility regarding location, pay is competitive, the benefits are amazing, and everyone has the opportunity to excel. What’s more, the culture is fantastic, and Medicus hosts lots of events—like paint nights and potlucks—that foster camaraderie outside of work hours, too.
