I worked at Medisys for 6 months in the Vancouver location. If you work attached to the clinic, the role isn’t so bad. If you work in administration, there is no point putting your resume away. A lot of the supplies and materials are broken or missing. There are work stations with broken phones, broken screens, and the vaccine fridge rarely works. Before I quit, I was the highest seniority administrator. If you complain about wage or workload, nothing will be done. Management bullies staff and are offended when they stand up for themselves. Management is top heavy and spends most of their days in meetings. For a clinic with 30 employees (including doctors and other contractors that work once or twice a week), there is a team lead, associate director, and a director. They can’t relate to their staff. They received the company wide survey results. Our score was 25 % out of 100. Our next survey is in October and we don’t have enough employees that have been here for six months to even complete the survey. Your opinion isn’t valid if you have been with the company less than that. Overtime is very discouraged. Admin staff often work extra hours to clear their desk on their own time. Benefits are poor. They only offer partial coverage for you. If you wish to include a spouse or children, it gets quite expensive. They tell you that they have flexible benefits but it will still only be partial coverage with you covering the rest. The positive Vancouver reviews, have very similar syntax. Similar word choice and it is hard to have positive reviews from long term staff as there is not any. When you start at Medisys, it will take about a week to get passwords and a computer setup. They will tell you that you have benefits from day one but you can't sign on to them until you have your first pay slip. Your computer is very slow. Tech has stated that it is due to low bandwidth. They take between 4-6 weeks to hire an individual. If you need work now, keep looking. I asked for a raise and was told that I would get one. 8 weeks went by and I brought it up multiple times. The reason it still hadn’t been processed was due to HR being short staffed. Co-workers told me they were in a similar situation. When your hired, you sign a contract stating you will keep salary information confidential which isn’t very transparent. The CEO is a nice guy who refers to his directors in Vancouver as the Twin Towers as they are both tall. He came to the office once and took everyone for drinks. He was nice but doesn’t seem to understand the issue with turnover is directly related to his management team. When someone quits, the work is further divided between everyone still there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone work here. There is a reason turn over is high. If you were to leave Medisys, what would be the reason? A poor company culture that is client focused as they neglect their staff.
