Pros
You are able to run your own business. You are exposed to all sides of the business (distribution, manufacturing, sales, negotiations, inventory management, marketing, strategy, new product development, etc.). People are hard working and very competitive. Change is a constant. The owners care about the business but also about their employees.
Cons
Some managers can micro-manage you to death. Training is hard to come by. More market data would be helpful. There are so many silos the sales reps find it difficult to know who to go to with questions. Need more engineers for product development.
