Pros
You’ll have a lot of opportunity to grow and gain valuable experience. Especially if you are halfway competent and hard-working. Entrepreneurial spirit means that you’re not bogged down by paperwork and procedures. I enjoyed my team although that will completely depend on the area you work in.
Cons
Medline can’t expect to retain talent with their salaries. When you are working hard and clearly dedicated to your role and still making a fraction of what you could, it saps your motivation. It’s too bad because Medline has a lot going for them, but they’ve clearly chosen their model: hire young employees, underpay them, and accept that good people will leave. I can’t imagine that it’s actually best for them in the long run. Health insurance options are not good. Because Medline hires many young people, there’s a lot of weird gaps in processes and knowledge that should be standard in the industry. Divisions are reluctant to hire experienced professionals because it exposes their unpolished business practices. Also the pay. Although you gain a lot of experience, you’re most likely not going to learn to do things the right way because there aren’t enough experienced leaders.
