Pros

Travel Benefits. Truly good, you get competitive per diem and reimbursement for things like lounge access and travel suitcase. Also, for me personally, I enjoyed the non-regional travel.

Cons

Everything Else. Let me tell you that all the negative reviews here are definitely true. The company justifies these negative elements by saying that "they are proud of their high standards". However, this is nothing more than a publicity stunt, likely for the investors. On the inside, they heavily sensor "this high standard" by things like not allowing you to mention how many studies you work on to anyone and twist the truth about your work to favor sponsor outlook. They assign you to twice the amount of sites for half the pay, and then fire you for someone else's incompetence or for a minuscule issue. Yes, standards are important, but this is done primarily in order to maintain a cheap labor force that they have no shortage of because of their "amazing" training program which take 6 months but can be done in two and justifies paying less. The company is great at covering their a** on paper, but in the background you hear stories like forcing workers to travel during COVID, not reporting in-office COVID cases, and punishing workers for taking a leave of absence for medical reasons. They will probably find a way to justify or deny all these, but the fact of the matter is that everyone is constantly afraid of losing their job, stressed about the large amount of work, and definitely looking for better opportunities that you don't have to go far to find. Get in, and get out- they will most likely fire you anyway...

Medpace Response

We’re very sorry to hear your comments about Medpace and the negativity you feel is within the organization. We work hard to ensure we are place that attracts employees not just for the short term, but are a place that our associates can grow in their career. You seem to be misinformed about our response to the pandemic. Like most employees we are learning as we go and adapting our best practices based on the information available. During the initial uncertainty of COVID-19, we did allow our staff to work remotely for 2 months to ensure the safety of our employees and communities. We have slowly started re-opening our offices to a staggered schedule at 50% capacity. The majority of our employees work every other week in office. Although we had maintained our full workforce on a completely remote basis with full pay for the initial weeks of the various lockdowns, despite the fact that many of our positions cannot be performed if our campus is not open, unfortunately this is not a sustainable long-term option. We did suspend all non-essential travel and CRAs in particular switched to virtual site visits and remote monitoring. As travel restrictions have lifted we have resumed some essential travel - including monitoring visits. We have taken every precaution as a company to ensure our employees are safe, and are handling any in-office COVID cases in accordance with CDC guidelines. We are extremely proud of our CRA training program (PACE) and have seen incredible success and collaboration it provides between our CRAs and management. We encourage current employees to speak to their line managers directly should they have any issues with workload. It is apparent Medpace was not the best fit for you. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

Coworkers are willing to help you and answer questions.

Cons

Abysmal pay for industry standards. Work will be piled on continuously. More and more studies. Forced to present impossible timelines. And then you have to speak to why these timelines were not met after the fact when it's outside of your control. Travel expectations thrown at you with a couple days notice. CEO micromanages the entire company. They track when you badge in and badge out of the building. You have to badge out to exit. Upper management throws you under the bus in front of sponsor despite agreeing with you in prep call and telling you they will have your back. People here work crazy long hours late into the evening and think it's normal.
