Pros

Good salary compared to other CRO wrt location. Many young employees and activities that does make in person interaction easier. Some managements are really good to work with.

Cons

After a few months, the work gets mundane compared to the requirement of a PhD degree, but that's corporate. Health insurance is bad (high deductible plan), and overall cost more for family compared to single person's insurance. They provide HSA to compensate but still a lot of expense. Only 10 vacation days gets rolled over. If you are interested in family planning, no paternity leave. Maternity leave is 6 weeks at 60% pay once one year tenure is completed. You would become ineligible for bonus for taking maternity leave, which is kind of offensive. Lot of other US corporations are improving this and medpace should follow the same path. Some managements are biased towards their preferred nationality and tends to micromanage, discourage work life balance. Remote and flex hour options are a bit strict and needs prior approval which some mangers takes advantage of and tries to discourage.

Medpace does offer maternity leave and provides salary continuation coverage through our short term disability policy.  Like most companies within the United States our maternity benefits are limited in duration, but we support our associates and their growing families through all phases of life. Regarding management, we are proud of the leadership we have in our management teams and we encourage employees to speak to their HR Representative should they have any concerns. Coworkers are willing to help you and answer questions.

Cons

Abysmal pay for industry standards. Work will be piled on continuously. More and more studies. Forced to present impossible timelines. And then you have to speak to why these timelines were not met after the fact when it's outside of your control. Travel expectations thrown at you with a couple days notice. CEO micromanages the entire company. They track when you badge in and badge out of the building. You have to badge out to exit. Upper management throws you under the bus in front of sponsor despite agreeing with you in prep call and telling you they will have your back. People here work crazy long hours late into the evening and think it's normal.
