Pros
Most of the lower and middle level staff are decent people.
Cons
Terrible software architecture, and I mean terrible. Their system is so antiquated and slow, that just a simple thing like changing some text or an image on a web page is a major operation taking hours of development and Sys admin time. Basically developer hacks have been allowed to grow and grow for years, and in the end you have a system that is a complete mess. Cant be fixed, have to start again. Working hours. Long hours are expected as a result of the poor sofware. I was working 8:45am to 6pm and I was just a newbie. I would expected to work an hour more at least each day. I am not apposed to long working hours, but they are deeply unsatisfying here as very little gets done. Pay. For me it was market rate. Management.. Well not management, the founder. Honestly the worst man I've met in my career so far, you are not people in his organisation just an asset. First day at the job, didnt even say hello, just came over with a problem and expected me to fix. The CEO came across as a decent guy from what I could tell. Software developers. The people are nice, but this companies software is so old and bad you wont learn anything. As a result most of the people are fairly uninspiring in their ability. A few are good though.
