Pros

Benefits are good for employees who are full time status and also those who are part time status but average over 34 hours a week. On the job leadership training and promotes from within. Team members typically are friendly and work well together.

Cons

Team member wages aren’t keeping up with other retailers so turnover is high and we can’t replace people as quickly as we lose them to competitors that pay slightly more. They also need to let people know they still qualify for subsidized insurance if they aren’t full time status but average over 34 hours per week. When open enrollment comes around employees who really want or need insurance are not properly informed by leadership that they are even eligible to apply let alone that they can still qualify for lower cost insurance because they are averaging the amount of hours that qualify for “part time with subsidy” benefits. In turn, people leave for other places thinking it’s the only option they have to prioritize their healthcare but really are just simply being misinformed. Departments that require more than one TL tend to have communication problems and compete with one another rather than work together.

Pros

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Cons

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
