Pros
For retail, you actually receive raises. The manager can be good, but it can vary as no person is the same as the other. After a year your able to transfer to a higher paying department. Another good thing is that they have a union; so that means they can't fire you just because they don't like you. For example, they can't fire you because you like a type of music they think as bad.
Cons
There are by far more negative things about Meijer's them there is positive. While some managers are good, others are terrible, not friendly and they play favorites. Cooperate always sticks their noise in and tells you how things should be done even though their not the ones working on the floor and they don't know glow that store in that area should be ran and why things are done a certain way. The union is good but also bad. People who have been there for a whole and full timers know how to use the union so they don't have to do any work or just the bare minimum, making it so when you work second shift you have a lot more work to get done. As a general merchandise employee you don't get to leave until all your work is done or you have worked a full 8.5 hours. Just terrible
