Pros

A while ago, I posted a big scathing review of this job. It’s been a couple years I think, so I’ll update. The store is finally hiring people, and work is finally being evenly divided. Management isn’t nearly as uptight and now even does some work.

Cons

Still some days where you are expected to do the work of three people. Definitely some slacking on certain shifts, and we are expected to pick it up. If I have to do the work of two other shifts, then I deserve the pay of three people. Corporate seems determined to make useless rules, with weird punishments. We’re still going to ignore them though, so they should just give up. Pay is still bad. I’m sorry, but if everyone else is offering more, why should I work here? Benefits are nice, I get that. But the energy company doesn’t care about my benefits, they care that they get their payment on time. If you want to retain talent, you have to open your checkbook and pay for it.

Pros

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Cons

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
