Pros

- Pay was decent - Job was exhausting but easy - Meijer Achievers bonus points mainly during holidays (employee points that could be redeemed for items or gift cards)

Cons

- Forced to join a union even if you didn't want to, then would up pay but secretly up unions dues making it pointless. - Entire 3rd shift employees (including the managers) were nothing but drama, dragging everyone into it making it feel like nothing but middle schoolers working, yet everyone is adults. - Not enough employees in the department during the time I was working, heard from multiple sources of people who were friends with the managers that it was due to the managers wanting to save money and earn a bigger bonus for having a smaller number of workers. - Pallets from truck ranged in weight, there would be several nights working alone trying to pull pallets that could weigh up to 1300lb with no help. (definitely not in the job description, and those several bags of potatoes stacked on one pallet were no joke) - No recognition for any of the work you would put in, even if you did extra work.

Pros

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Cons

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
