Pros

Small company makes it easy to promote and move around. I spent almost 10 years at the company and never stayed in a position for more that a couple years without being promoted to something better. They're ok with giving a lot of responsibility to new college hires. Learning curve isn't too steep as most processes have been documented well (due to high turnover it's essential that new hires see easy to train). If you're a white male Mormon you'll fit in great, if you're not it's going to be a very uncomfortable situation.

Cons

As one of only a few major employers in the area, they're able to capitalize on people's desire to live in SE Idaho and pay lower wages. Everything flows through Frank, pay raises, promotions, process changes, etc. Frank is a great business man. He knows what he wants and he'll drive the company to get it. However, that can come with some downsides for employees. Pay raises are capped at 10% (which may sound great, but when you're getting paid $30k, a 10% raise isn't much) and if you were promised more all the manager can do is shrug their shoulders and say sorry, Frank didn't approve it. You'll hear a lot of Frank says or Frank this/that. Everyone is extremely loyal to Frank, which again isn't horrible, but if there are innovations or process improvements to be made, people easily use him as a scape goat excuse. Having worked for a few companies outside of Melaleuca, it's clear that the grass really is greener on the other side. Melaleuca does things really well with the confines of the environment. They'll continue to grow due to a solid business plan and intelligent leader. But what happens when Frank is gone? He is the brain trust of the business. I wouldn't be surprised if customers jump ship when he's gone. And I'm curious to see how the business will react. All I can say is I'm glad I won't be there when it happens.

Pros

Great to work for, the people are kind and willing to help you with any problem you run into.

Cons

They're stingy with promotions and probably won't utilize you to your fullest capacity

Pros

- side benefits are okay - it is a median sort of job - I personally have some freedom do to personal professional development on the clock when there is no immediate need for my work (happens very little) - People half listen once they know you have been at Melaleuca after about 5 years

Cons

- No management that knows what they are doing - Not very customer-focused - Don't seek to fulfill their strategic imperatives or strategies or mission - Very hard for people to listen to you because you're new - They don't have a lot of integrity - Very slow to solve problems - Don't worry about making improvements in processes or tools we use - Slow AI usage and no proficiency in AI usage, strategies or implementation - Managers micromanage because Melaleuca is "unique" - Most of the positive things they tout all the time serves only the company's image, not the employees - Don't worry about giving raises in a timely manner - Not goal-oriented employer And I could probably keep going, but will stop here.
