Pros

goodly amount PTO, spiritual holidays, and personal time off.

Cons

computerized charting goes too far. you must drag a heavy cow wherever you go and scan every bracelet and every pill, eye drop, and ointment. it doesn't matter if the scan bar is smudged and won't. you will be disciplined. you must join a committee which exists just to bring it closer to magnet status. if you forget to chart one turn or one piece of education, you will receive an e mail. if you do not lable one tubing, you ill also receive an email. if one unreasonable horribly behaved needy patient or family member turns you in for not smiling while you are being yelled at, you will be discilplined/ spoken to. your whereabouts will be known at ALL times because you will wear a "nurse locater", along with a personal phone which will ring constantly. most days you will work til you drop from exhaustion, as soon as one discharges you will get two more as we cannot say no to ER

Pros

I love my job at Memorial Hermann! The pay is fair, they are understanding as far as life events, and will accommodate as needed. Since it is such a big hospital, there are many opportunities available as well.

Cons

None that I can think of

Pros

Quality care. Patient focused. Room for growth depending on skill but sometimes based on who you know which is a con. Lots of great providers who really care.

Cons

A lot of politics and favortism. People get promoted in leadership that don't deserve it which makes for a miserable experience for those working with them . Some senior leaders are disrespectful, overly demanding, disregard others time and effort, manipulative, aggressive, belittling, don't understand the workload of others, inflict punishment based on their feelings or because they want to, do things for their own benefit and are dishonest.
