Pros

-Great healthcare benefits -Good paid vacation -Reputable cancer center -Invaluable healthcare related experience

Cons

Speaking from my personal experience working as a CRC in the Clinical Trials Office (ABMT), the large amount of work, the lack of guidance and training can make this job challenging. I unfortunately was assigned a very unhelpful and unfriendly supervisor and this greatly undermined my success in this company. A lot of the CRC's complain about how unhappy they are, the workload is high, there is little to no training when assigned protocols, but management expects you to know everything about the protocol. My supervisor whose role is suppose to be support and guidance, was very mean and unfriendly towards me and when I asked for guidance I was often met with a condescending attitude. What hurt me the most was that I proactively tried to address this issue with upper management on multiple occasions and this led to my termination with no explanation.

Pros

A lot of people to work with and a great amount of exposure to different in-house counsel areas. If you are proactive, there are plenty of people willing to try and meet with you and explain things, though their time is limited. If you can pick at their brains, the Attorneys of the smartest and most hard-working individuals you'll meet. They have some fun events and team-bonding,

Cons

Lack of diversity in interns, which make fit and experience difficult. Even upon meeting diverse staff and people, there always seems to be a barrier and front. Attorneys generally have little time to teach you, but they do their best. Compensation is lackluster, but benefits and events are fun. Sometimes work can lag, and you must be proactive in seeking it out for yourself.
