Pros

It’s a good place to work ! Nice pay and benefits however things are getting a bit more difficult now

Cons

The new CFO seems to hire people without looking for talent in the organization to promote . There are so many talented directors but many powerful positions are being filled by outsiders. We used to have a great grievance mechanism to express our issues but now we have nothing of that sort. It just exists as a namesake with no real actionable powers. There is a general sense of feeling among the employees in our department that they are just told about a decision that was made by the newcomers and we have to live with it and have no say whatsoever. A simple task that took a few hours to do is now taking days because no one really cares and have given up and just doing the bare minimum to get by. There was a CDO that was hired in information technology sometime ago and he started several initiatives but conveniently left the organization in a short time and letting everything descend in to chaos. Somehow there is an eerie similarity to what we are going through as well.

Pros

A lot of people to work with and a great amount of exposure to different in-house counsel areas. If you are proactive, there are plenty of people willing to try and meet with you and explain things, though their time is limited. If you can pick at their brains, the Attorneys of the smartest and most hard-working individuals you'll meet. They have some fun events and team-bonding,

Cons

Lack of diversity in interns, which make fit and experience difficult. Even upon meeting diverse staff and people, there always seems to be a barrier and front. Attorneys generally have little time to teach you, but they do their best. Compensation is lackluster, but benefits and events are fun. Sometimes work can lag, and you must be proactive in seeking it out for yourself.
