Pros
- Decent starting pay ($14/hr for most positions, +$2/hr extra if you're in a position that uses equipment like forklifts) with many raise opportunities - Profit Sharing at the end of the year, % bonus increases with tenure - Decent health insurance coverage for full time employees - CAN be easy to progress career depending on management and desired positions - Attendance points roll off every 90 days as opposed to yearly
Cons
- Lots of turnover and movement of managers means very inconsistent store management and individual policies - No designated sick leave; it comes out of vacation days or goes unpaid - Current training is VERY dependent on mentorship from department managers; this can be good if they actually train you, but makes it very easy to sign off and not do much. - GMs tend to micromanage departments - No leniency on hour requirements for benefits - if your average hours fall 0.25 hours short of the requirement, kiss your insurance goodbye. - Some department managers straight up just don't do their jobs.
